Yes, in modern football a foreign police force now has to give an excuse for steaming into an English teams support.

I much preferred when they didn't have to make an excuse at all and it hardly got reported.

Nope, losing interest and can see a time when I just check our results just to see how we are doing.

It is much polite to keep a respectful distance from the pitch

Just tuned into a stream for the Palace game.
First thing hit me was there are people close by the side of the pitch. How it should be.
We have been done up like a kipper.

I thought Saturday was rather enjoyable and winning helps.

Will be glad when the season is over but the whole matchday experience is improving be it at a snails pace.

If you was not arsed you would not even put a post up!

Winning helps people to be arsed, just look at the attendance figures at the start of the 85/86 season

Many fans enjoying it yesterday considering such a dodgy match, took some of my family yesterday and they liked it

Plenty of people still arsed on Saturday.

I'm not, and realised yesterday that I don't enjoy going anymore, won't be renewing.

My sentiments exactly. This time last year I started a thread saying how upset i was regarding the move.
I was systematically slaughtered on this site told basically to move over and let progress commence.
Now one year on I can't wait until the season ends and I don't have to make that poxy journey to the goldfish bowl that I have no association with.
Sixty years I've followed us but as they say that love affair has finally come to an end.
Yep you're right I cant be arsed.

No. It's not about what happens on the pitch.

It's the CULTURE.

It's over.

Football is OVER.

It's just been a shit season. Write it off and see how you feel next season, assuming it's any better on the field.

You'd think that we should be winning a few more games when we're playing Barnsley and Burton Albion.

You've got a fucking weird idea as to what is 'superb'. A 3-0 stroll in the park for Arsenil, but you're happy 'cos you got pissed. You might as well save some money and stay in the boozer.

Re: Is anyone ARSED anymore?
At the moment, I can't be arsed. It's board level, they are going back on what they said about 114.

However in the summer when the fixtures come out, the excitement comes back. The new kit, signings and everything else with it gives optimism.

Wednesday was superb, the build up, boozing and watching us away. It was all proper West Ham too. Will be hard to lose interest in away games, for sure.

Re: Is anyone ARSED anymore?
Another thought:

Is it just West Ham, or is it football in general?

The commercialisation, games on at silly times, dodgy dealings at UEFA and FIFA, with all these new competitions for supposed "superstar" teams, edging out what football always used to be about. Kids seemingly encouraged to support "successful" teams rather than teams with who they have some bond.

Coupled with footballers who seem to switch clubs every couple of years, whereas when I was a kid, footballers might switch clubs a couple of times in their playing career: typically a starter club, a club where they play their best years, then a third club where they play out their days

In terms of telly, maybe having too much football available for quite a while, the shine's going to go off anyway. Especially when footballers are being paid astronomical sums at a time when ordinary people are often struggling just to keep their heads above water. And this as per above for footballers who generally seem to have no bond or loyalty to whoever their "employer" is.

Then in terms of West Ham, the stadium move has basically encapsulated all of the above. Stewards cheering for other teams, etc.

Re: Is anyone ARSED anymore?
Thought I would bump this thread.

What a depressing season that continues to disappoint, and is likely to get much worse.
Struggling to remember any highs, Chelsea in the cup, second half against Palace, Swansea away though they'll get their revenge Saturday. That's about it.

But the big one, we lost our home. True supporters would never have us moved into that debacle of a space. It feels like we are at a temporary arena while a proper stadium is being built elsewhere, but this is it, not even ours, we've been done up like a kipper.

Brady ridicules the other London teams for having to spend money on their new stadiums. The last post has it, the Board is CHEAP. Brady is measuring and back slapping herself by the number of bums on seats (whoever they are), but again in the last post its QUANTITY rather than quality. How can we compete without quality throughout. Its cheap, all been done on the cheap.

Upton Park still had chapters to be written with the development of the chicken run by 7k to a capacity of 42k, enough for us.

If there is any future for West Ham, in the first instance the Board has to go. If they cared, they would sell up and go. It's all beyond them. In this game cheap does not survive and prosper. It gets found out.

They sold our soul, our home for the price of a decent player.

Re: Is anyone ARSED anymore?
West Ham - Upton Park match day was an experience with decades of football history from the legends who played in the claret & blue. The walk out of the station, pie and mash, banter on the street, anticipation of the match, loved all of it. Enjoyed every level of watching the Irons there, all four sides of the stadium, corporate, from players personal boxes with dinner thrown in. Just happy to be in amongst the fans and atmosphere.

The two Davids built their businesses on QUANTITY over QUALITY, low grade girly mags and cheap lingerie, they don't know quality, only numbers. The move to the OS has all the traits of their business class. The new Spurs, Chelsea and Everton grounds are gonna show what real FOOTBALL expansion is with quality grounds. West Ham have a sports arena instead of a proper football stadium.

50 years an Iron, primary school team played in claret & blue, virtually identical kit, was Captain a few times, been a Hammer since I was 8 years old and could read my old man's Littlewoods Pool sheet and John West Ham adverts on the TV made me laugh. Old man was Man Utd, I never budged even in the relegation years.

Now. For me personally they've cut the umbilical cord with their cheap business antics. Payet didn't leave the fans, he left the board, he saw through their bullshit.

Following the Irons was a feeling, deep rooted, now that feeling is overtaken by the sense of being taken for a ride by the board. QUANTITY over QUALITY, they'll come a cropper though and eventually be forced to sell. West Brom, Watford, Stoke and even Bournemouth with 15'000 ground capacity are being better run as football clubs. That's the reality.

Re: Is anyone ARSED anymore?
I’m all talk Chelmsford, agree with your post. I would no doubt still go. I never said I wouldn’t be bothered though as even if I stopped going I'd still watch & listen to our games via TV / radio etc. and keep up-to-date with what's going on.
Would probably just not go that often, maybe only 2 or 3 games a season.
